Thurs 1st June, Melbourne to Princetown

We begin our journey travelling via Geelong to Torquay - stopping to shop at Quicksilver and Rip Curl - before continuing on to world famous Bells Beach – Famous for it surf but flat as a pancake! Here we commenced our journey on the renowned Great Ocean Road, one of the most spectacular coastal roads in Australia. Hugging the coastline we stopped to view Koalas at Kennet River Park, pass through the seaside town of Lorne then break for lunch at Apollo Bay.In the afternoon we travel through the cool temperate rainforest of the Otway NP, spend time at the Otway Fly, (a 25 metre high elevated tree top walk) and viewed the sunset at the Twelve Apostles. We stayed in the coastal township of Princetown – If you can call 1 backpackers hostel, a pub and a shop a township!!! So…my first proper experience of backpacking, excluding my trip at the beginning of April!! I had to make my own bed and help wash up after dinner!!
